SURAT: The Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) has unearthed service tax evasion to the tune of Rs 10 crore by two Vadodara-based firms on Wednesday.
Official sources said that the DGGI’s Vadodara and Surat units carried out joint operation against M/s Iplex India Private limited located at Alkapuri in Vaddoara. During the search, it found that two more related firms namely M/s Scaale Venture Resources Limited and M/s Talent Anywhere Services Private Limited were operating from the said premises.
It was found that that M/s Talent Anywhere Services was claiming exemption from payment of GST by treating the services provided by them as ‘export of services’ under IT enabled services. However, investigations revealed that the services provided by the two firms did not qualify as IT enabled as they were providing HR and infrastructural management service to their clients based in United States.
